Chilean Documentary Wins Award at SANFIC Industry 2025
We are thrilled to share that our project, “The Art of Wasting Time” (El arte de perder el tiempo), was honored with the LH Coach Award at SANFIC Industry 2025. This recognition validates our core philosophy: questioning hyper-productivity, exploring creativity, and rethinking our relationship with time.
Directed by Camila Toro Cortez, the project was supported by producer Esteban Sandoval (Pejeperro Films), whose expertise was key in bringing it to a prestigious development lab like Santiago Lab.
The Value of Collaboration in the Valparaíso Region
Working outside the Metropolitan Region has allowed us to tap into a diverse and creative cultural environment, strengthening our work as an audiovisual production company based in Viña del Mar (Pikun) and El Yeco (Pejeperro).
In this context, the architectural and social universe of the Siete Hermanas Housing Complex stands out. Designed by architects Hugo Boetsch and Jorge Elton, its Brutalist footprint and unique design—inspired by the hills surrounding Quinta Vergara—provide the perfect backdrop for a universal perspective on time and creativity rooted in local heritage.
The LH Coach Award will help us strengthen our mission. It is a specialized coaching program for cinema and creative leadership that supports teams in enhancing narrative, project development, and building conscious strategies for creative work (lhcoach.cl).
SANFIC Closing Night – 2025
Recognition at SANFIC Industry 2025
Regarding the production approach, Esteban Sandoval comments: «Producing The Art of Wasting Time is also a political statement: art needs time to flourish, and our job is to safeguard that time, giving it structure and projection. The goal of the project is not just the final ‘master copy,’ but also to pave a path for creation and continuous learning.»
This recognition at SANFIC Industry 2025 marks an important step in the international development of the project.
